Single Arched Gate featuring Coastal Bronze Hardware – Manchester, MA

A recent arched gate project built by Windover Construction featuring solid bronze gate hardware from Coastal Bronze. Featuring old world designed hardware as manufactured by Coastal Bronze, this installation inludes a combination of T-Band Hinges, Band Hinge Pintles, Double Thumblatch and a gate stop. With a focus on gate hardware, Coastal Bronze fills a gap in the hardware industry for a product that will never rust in extreme outdoor conditions. As the bronze hardware ages, the product will form a greenish patina.

What is bronze?

Bronze is an alloy that contains mostly copper, tin and some lead. It’s introduction over 5,000 years ago revolutionized metal work and launched the Bronze Age. By adding tin to copper, workers created a metal that was stronger and impervious to corrosion. Bronze artifacts have been found dating from as early as 3,500 BC.

Coastal Bronze Hardware is pure bronze; 90% Copper and 10% Tin.

Is bronze hardware more beautiful?

Moving from the scientific to the aesthetic, we can assess the superiority of bronze as a feature in the landscape. Bronze has a long history of use as the preferred material for outdoor hardware, partly because of its durability but mainly because it weathers so beautifully.

Once installed outdoors, the metallic bronze hardware darkens to an old-penny brown then eventually to a greenish/blue patina. These colors compliment the browns and greens in nature and do not distract from the natural beauty of the landscape.

Agave Ironworks Rolling Track Barn Door Hardware features all that you need for hanging a rolling overhead barn door. Choose from Flat Track Door Kits which contain all that’s necessary to hang one door or pick and pull the components you need specific to your project. Agave Ironworks flat track door hardware is high quality iron, available in multiple finishes and are available in smooth or distressed designs. Stainless Steel Barn Door Track Kits are also available.

Barn door setups requiring more than 8′ of track can be easily setup by using a track splicer, which installs separately behind the flat track bar, to create a seamless length of longer track. You’re searching everywhere for decorative garage door hardware kits to dress up your garage door so it looks like a set of carriage doors. Here’s a few examples of some hardware configurations to consider for your faux carriage door project.

There are countless configurations for a decorative garage door. The renderings below are a basic 4 carriage door setup. Essentially, when transforming a single garage door into a set, or pair, of carriage doors, it’s common to use 4 strap hinges and 2 handles. However, in some cases, just 2 handles are sufficient because of the design of the door or you want to use 3 pairs of strap hinges.
