Bi-Parting Barn Doors Featuring Agave Ironworks Barn Door Track Hardware – Howell, MI

Heritage Mantels of Howell, MI custom built two 4′ barn doors for a cabin style home and needed rustic barn door track hardware. Successfully installed a combination of two 8′ Flat Track Rolling Barn Door Kits (with track splicer*) from Agave Ironworks. Agave Ironworks Rolling Track Barn Door Hardware features all that you need for hanging a rolling overhead barn door. Choose from Flat Track Door Kits which contain all that’s necessary to hang one door or pick and pull the components you need specific to your project. Agave Ironworks flat track door hardware is high quality iron, available in multiple finishes and are available in smooth or distressed designs. Stainless Steel Barn Door Track Kits are also available.

* The track splicer is installed separately behind the flat track bar to create a seamless length of longer track. This method of track length combination allows for quick (and FREE) shipping of the entire kits as track lengths greater than 8′ require additional freight charges and lead times.

Double Arched Z-Frame Gate Entrance featuring Coastal Bronze Gate Hardware

Here’s a breakdown of the solid bronze gate hardware from Coastal Bronze used on this particular outdoor double arched z-frame gate entrance project. Featuring old world designed hardware skillfully reproduced and manufactured by Coastal Bronze, this installation includes a combination of Gate Band Hinges, Gate Thumblatches, Gate Pull Handles and Cane Bolts to provide security from the inside. With a focus on gate hardware, Coastal Bronze fills a gap in the hardware industry for a product that will never rust in extreme outdoor conditions. As the bronze hardware ages, the product will form a greenish patina.

Since a door jamb is not available for this particular gate configuration, the use of a gate stop will stop the door from swinging in the wrong direction and protect the entire hardware assembly (hinges and drop bars) when the gate is shut, or inadvertently slammed.

What is bronze?

Bronze is an alloy that contains mostly copper, tin and some lead. It’s introduction over 5,000 years ago revolutionized metal work and launched the Bronze Age. By adding tin to copper, workers created a metal that was stronger and impervious to corrosion. Bronze artifacts have been found dating from as early as 3,500 BC.

Coastal Bronze Hardware is pure bronze; 90% Copper and 10% Tin.

Is bronze hardware more beautiful?

Moving from the scientific to the aesthetic, we can assess the superiority of bronze as a feature in the landscape. Bronze has a long history of use as the preferred material for outdoor hardware, partly because of its durability but mainly because it weathers so beautifully.

Once installed outdoors, the metallic bronze hardware darkens to an old-penny brown then eventually to a greenish/blue patina. These colors compliment the browns and greens in nature and do not distract from the natural beauty of the landscape.

The new barn door hardware finish options include Brilliant White, Corvette Yellow, Ferrari Red and a Brushed Industrial finish which is also known as a raw or natural iron finish. Due to the characteristics of distressed/hammer metal, the brushed industrial finish simply does not look appealing so it is available for the smooth hardware styles only.

Custom Kitchen Featuring Rope Series Hardware from Cliffside Industries – Bexley, OH

A customer in Bexley, OH outfitted their custom kitchen installation with the Rope Suite Solid Brass Hardware Collection from Cliffside Industries. The Rope Suite Decorative Cabinet Hardware Collection is characterized by the woven design present across the face of this collection’s pulls and knobs, even accentuating the rim of the Cliffside-exclusive cup pull. Several of the more ornate solid brass hinge styles, such as the inset and offset armoire hinges, are popular with this suite.

The Venetian Bronze Finish is a matte oil-rubbed bronze finish with a copper undertone brushed to show highlights; the amount of highlighting, lacquering, color tone, etc. will vary from piece to piece and from item to item.

What is bronze?

Bronze is an alloy that contains mostly copper, tin and some lead. It’s introduction over 5,000 years ago revolutionized metal work and launched the Bronze Age. By adding tin to copper, workers created a metal that was stronger and impervious to corrosion. Bronze artifacts have been found dating from as early as 3,500 BC.

Coastal Bronze Hardware is pure bronze; 90% Copper and 10% Tin.

Is bronze hardware more beautiful?

Moving from the scientific to the aesthetic, we can assess the superiority of bronze as a feature in the landscape. Bronze has a long history of use as the preferred material for outdoor hardware, partly because of its durability but mainly because it weathers so beautifully.

Once installed outdoors, the metallic bronze hardware darkens to an old-penny brown then eventually to a greenish/blue patina. These colors compliment the browns and greens in nature and do not distract from the natural beauty of the landscape.
